You will get to see most of the new images today as you sit back and enjoy our MAY Krafty Hop!  If you have been hopping along in order, you should have arrived here after visiting with the lovely and talented Beate, who we're thrilled to have joining us once again as a Krafty Guest. I adore Beate's style. :)  If not, make sure to start from the beginning at the Kraftin’ Kimmie Challenge Blog so you don't miss any blogs along the way.  As you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment at each and every stop because some lucky stampers will win packages of these incredible stamps from the new release!!

There were so many great stamps to play with this month that I decided to make three cards for today's hop. :)

First up is one of the three images from the Lulu On The Move set. The papers are all from Cosmo Cricket Tea for Two. I also used one of the fantastic Everyday Trinkets which I cut out with my Spellbinders circles.

Lulu was coloured with Copics and cut out with Spellbinders Labels 4. To "ground" her, I drew in the sidewalk and added some grass. The sky was sponged in with blue ink.

Skin: E000, E00, E11, RV95, R20  Hair: E50, E31, E33, E37, E59, YR31  Clothes: BG72, BG75, BG78, C9, YR31, Y17, Y21, E97, E99, R27, R46  Shoes: E97, E99, E18  Bike: R22, R27, R48, R59, C3, C5, C7, C9  Sidewalk: C00, C1, C3, C5  Grass: YG03, G82, YG63, YG67, G99

Next up is Miss Information, one of the new Everyday Girls from Annie Rodrigue. The sentiment is one of two that comes with this stamp. (The other reads, "You make the grade!") The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Ink. The paper is a snippet left from a My Mind's Eye pad, but I'm not sure which one, lol. I also added a couple of Make It Crafty chipboard corners what were coloured with my R27.

Skin: E000, E00, E11, RV95, R20  Hair: E50, E31, E33, E37, E59  Clothes: R22, R27, R46, R59, C3, C5, C7, C9  Chalkboard: C5  Letters: R27

Finally, I made another mini-note card with Nicole's fantastic Everyday Trinkets...these trinkets are fabulous on their own or in combination with your main images. One of the nice things about making mini-cards is that it gives you an opportunity to use up all those little snippets of design paper left over from larger projects. I also used the In Stitches Set to add some faux stitching in brown ink and finished the card off with a few pearls made with my Viva Decor Pearl Pen

It's my pleasure to send you off to visit with our final talented stamper on today's hop, Miss Kraftin' Kimmie!!! I know that Kimmie has something wonderful to share with you. :)

When you’re done hoppin’, be sure to head over to the Kraftin’ Kimmie shop, because ALL the new images are NOW available!  And of course, as always, we have our Gimme Kimmies Kits available for those of you who ‘need it all’!!  The stamps are grouped together by artist and are available at a discount, but only for a limited time!!

Thanks so much for stopping by...now off you go to see Kimmie!!

"Ever After"

Hi krafty friends! This week's Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge is a sketch brought to us by the lovely and talented Pam Varnell. Today is also another round of sneak peeks and the Krafty Girls have all used brand new May images from Annie Rodrigues.

For my card, I chose to use this gorgeous romantic stamp called "Ever After". What a sweet couple. :)  This image is quite versatile as it could be used for weddings, anniversaries, proms, fairy tale cards or perhaps even Valentine's day. The papers are all from My Mind's Eye Madison Ave.

"Ever After" was stamped on Neenah with Memento Ink and coloured with Copics. I used my Oval and Scalloped Oval Spellbinders for matting the image.

Skin: E000, E00, E11, RV95  His hair: E50, E31, E33, E37, E59 Her Hair: E50, E31, E33, E37, E59, YR31  Tux: C3, C5, C7, C9  Dress: E50, E41, E43, E47  Flowers and red accents: R22, R29, R59

Welcome to another round of sneak peeks at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! Today we are introducing two brand new sets by Emilie Goulet called "Flirty Fairies 1" and "Flirty Fairies 2". Each set includes three main image stamps and several coordinating sentiments.

For my card today, I inked up this adorable little fairy in a flower bud. She is from the "Flirty Fairies 1" set. The papers are from My Minds Eye, the flower is from Prima and the flourish was created with an MFT die.

She was stamped in Memento ink on Neenah cardstock and coloured with Copics.

Colouring on Kraft...a Make it Colourful Challenge

Looking for the Kraftin' Kimmie Sneak Peeks? Please make sure to check back at 7:00 EST! :)

Good morning folks!! I was asked to be one of the guest designers for the "Colour on Kraft" challenge with the Make It Colourful team. I had the great pleasure of joining this lovely team of ladies for a challenge a couple of months ago, and have been looking forward to playing along again. :)

Zoe, the owner of Make It Crafty, recently released a fabulous collection of mermaids and coordinating backgrounds. I chose to work with the digital stamp version of "Mermaid Shellina". I printed her off on kraft cardstock, but first reduced the opacity of the image so that the outline was more subtle. She was coloured with Copic markers, cut out with some circle Spellbinders and matted with Lacey Circles Spellbinders. I used a Make It Crafty Chipboard corner which was coloured with my G82 marker. The flourish was cut with an MFT die and the paper is from DCWV.

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, RV95, R20  Hair: E50, E31, E33, E37, E59  Tail: YG00, YG03, YG11, BG10, BG01, BG05, BG09, BG78, C9  Shells: R22, R29, R59, C9  Seahorse: Y21, Y38, E13, E17, E18, E59

Make sure to pop by Make It Colourful for all the details on the challenge and also check out the Make It Colorful design team projects in the MIC Clubhouse gallery.

I just wanted to say a huge thanks again to Zoe and her team for having me as a guest!

Thanks for stopping by. :)

Melanie

Introducing Kraftin' Kimmie "Everyday Trinkets"!!

We are kicking off the *New* May Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps sneak peeks today and first off, we’d like to introduce you to a whole new line of stamps!!!  We are very excited to share with you our….TRINKETS!!!
These circular sentiment stamps have been created and designed by the totally talented Krafty Girl, Nicole Aspinall!!  They are made to fit in your 1 3/8ths and 1 ¾ inch punches for quick and easy cutting!!!  This month we are releasing the Everyday Trinkets set which covers Birthday, Thank You, Friendship and Just Because!!!  There are EIGHT trinkets in each set with four of each size and they come as both positive and negative images, so you can use your black or brown ink with the positive stamps and use your coloured inks with the negative ones!!
These trinkets are of course a quick and easy way to add a sentiment to your cards, but they are also perfect for your Smashbook pages and your scrapbook pages, not to mention your altered items as well!!
I created two mini note cards for my sneak peeks featuring the "Everyday Trinkets". These little cards are a great way to use up little scraps of paper from larger cards and projects. I paired this trinket up with a butterfly cut with the Memory Box Vivienne die. I also traced around the die and cut out a backing for the butterfly so I could fill in the spaces in the wings with Copic markers. The Trinket sentiment was stamped on kraft cardstock with Versafine Ink. I also used the In Stitches Set to create some faux stitching in brown ink. To finish it off I added a few pearls made with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen

My second Trinket card again uses some snippets of leftover papers. The sentiment was stamped in Walnut Stain Distress Ink on kraft cardstock.

The Everyday Trinkets Set comes as a completely unmounted full sheet of deeply etched grey rubber.  And keep your eyes peeled for more themes because we’ve got lots more Trinkets on the way!!!
SNEAK PEEK BLOG CANDY: Kimmie is giving away full set of the Everyday Trinkets to one lucky stamper!! To be eligible, visit the KKS blog where you will find a full list of the Krafty Girls participating in today's previews. Then hop around and leave comments on each Krafty Girl's blog. Kimmie will draw the winner from the comments and their name will be announced on the KKS Blog tomorrow...good luck!
Make sure to check back at the KKS Blog tomorrow to see who has more sneak peeks to share. :)
Blessings,
Melanie

"Sending Love" with SCACD

Good morning!! Have you seen the recent re-release of the gorgeous Guardian Angels at SCACD?? I adore these angels. They are so versatile and an absolute joy to colour. This is "Sending Love Angel". I decided to pull out a canvas and some paints to create a background...it's been a very long time since I've attempted to paint anything, so I am more than a bit rusty! (you can find canvases in the Mixed Media section at SCACD) To be honest, I need to invest in some better brushes I used some old inexpensive ones I've had kicking around for an eternity, lol. I used some matte medium to thin my paints out a bit to ease with the blending transitions. "Sending Love Angel" was stamped in Memento Ink and coloured with Copics. Her wings were given a coat of Stardust Stickles and she was adhered with the matte medium. I am a fan of Neenah paper for colouring with Copics, but thought I'd try out some cheap cardstock I have for using on the interior of my cards. It actually wasn't too bad for blending, but as it has a bit more "tooth" than what I prefer, I don't think I'll reach for it very often. It is however, a thinner paper than Neenah and so it has lower profile when adhered to the canvas.

Skin: E000, E00, E11, RV95, R20  Hair: E50, E31, E33, E37, E59  Jeans: B000, B91, B93, B95, B97, C7, C9  Shirt: V01, V12, V15, V9, C7, C9

Make sure to take a look around SCACD to check out all the new products Susana has been ordering in. If you are a mixed media artist, make sure to check out THIS section for some fantastic products perfect for canvases and art journals. You can keep up to date with all the happenings at SCACD at the Store Blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Melanie

One Layer Cards at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

Hi crafty friends! Krafty Girl Alice Wertz is our lovely hostess at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps this week and she has challenged everybody to make "One Layer Cards". I have to say that I have always been in awe of Alice's one layer cards...she's got such a fantastic style. :)  Removing all the excess layers and embellishments allows your image to really take centre stage.

A few months ago, I found a pack of plain white embossed cards at my local dollar store that I picked up and tucked away in my crafty space. They were perfect for this challenge. :)  I decided to use "Dorothy" from the recent Wizard of Oz release and a sentiment from the "Oz Sentiment Set" that was stamped in Versafine Ink.

Dorothy was stamped on Neenah cardstock in Memento Ink and coloured with Copics.

Skin: E000, E00, E11  Hair: E50, E31, E33, E37, E59  Dress: B000, B91, B93, B95, B97, C7, C9  Underskirt and bow: C1, C3, C5, C7  Basket: E11, E13, E17, E18  Shoes and blankets: R46, R59  Toto: C1, C3, C5, C7, C9

If you play along with Alice's one-layer challenge this week, you could be the lucky winner of the stamp featured on her gorgeous card. Just make sure to use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp to be eligible. You can check out the cards by the rest of the talented Krafty Girls over at the KKS Blog. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings,

Melanie
