Last month, I attended an AMAZING retreat with Kim, Tangii and Alexis with Creative Crafting Retreats...I highly recommend their events! One challenge at the event was to make a name tag. I pulled out Angie and coloured her up with Copics...felt she represented how I looked lol. I used some fun doodle bug papers. After I finished, I realized I needed a creative way to add my name, seeing as it was a NAMETAG challenge! To keep with the coffee theme, I cut out one of the coffee cups from the design paper and wrote my name on the sleeve just like they do at Starbucks. Plus Alexis got me addicted to a Starbucks drink that weekend, lol. Kris and Tiffany from the retreat gave out generous prized to a few participants...felt very blessed to be called as the winner. There were some awesome entries! So there you have it. My anything but a card project. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings

For today's hop, I used my favourite image from the Furry Holiday Wishes set. I absolutely adore this little mouse! I stamped him in memento desert sand on kraft and coloured him with polychromos coloured pencils. I used a bit of white prisma premier on the snow and to create the snowflakes. As much as I adore my polys, they have one weakness: the white pencil is too transluscent. I also have the Derwent Drawing Chinese White which is quickly becoming my go-to white pencil. I was just a bit lazy with this piece and since my prisma was within reach, that's what I used, lol. The sentiment comes with the set.

Here's my card featuring Merry Christmoose. Once again I stamped the image in memento desert sand ink and used coloured pencils. The vast majority of the image is coloured with my Faber Castell Polychromos. In the final layers, I used a couple of prisma premier on the skin (I only have a small handful of those) as well as a couple of Derwent Drawing pencils on the moose. Love how different brands of pencils can be used together.  I still have much to learn with coloured pencils, but I had a lot of fun experimenting with creating a furry texture for the moose. That being said, I think I got a little carried away and made him super fluffy, lol. Let's just say his winter coat has come in. ;) There are a ton of layers in that fur! I decided to only stamp a portion of the image to fit on a smaller card base. The sentiment comes with the set.

Here's my card featuring Winter Whitney. I stamped her on kraft and coloured her with my polychromos. Typically, I use odorless mineral spirits to blend, but this one is just pure pencil. :)

Stencils...a Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge!

Hi everyone! Welcome to another challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps...this week we are challenging you to use STENCILS! Make a card, scrapbook layout, tag or whatever your krafty heart desires!

Submit your projects for the chance to WIN a $20 gift card to the Shop. In keeping in line with the rest of our challenges (Wonderful Wednesday and our NEW Krafty Scrappy Challenge), we will be drawing one winner per month from all Saturday Challenge entries to win a $20 gift card...enter as many times per month as you'd like!!

Have you joined the Krafty Friends FB group?? It's the best place to keep up with all of the goings on as well as sharing YOUR creations and getting inspired by other Krafty Friends' creations!

We will post a Sketch each month that lasts all month long. If you use it in ANY of our Challenges or WW's during that month you will get an additional chance to win a store gift card! You do NOT have to use the sketch, it's just a little extra boost for your mojo if needed. ;) (you'll find it on the KKS blog)

I made a quick and simple bookmark using one of my favourite sentiments from the Alice in Wonderland stamp set. I simply used a die cut bookmark from mixed media paper, positioned a stencil, and applied a blend of 3 Distress Oxide inks. I then dressed it up with a flourish stamp to frame the fun sentiment. I added a few rhinestones to finish it off.
