The stamps that started it all!

Hello! Today I am going to share a card I made with a stamp from The Greeting Farm's Miss Anya set. One day a few months back, I was innocently browsing some websites, and stumbled across somebody's blog (unfortunately, I do not remember whose it was!) who had made a card with these stamps. Wow! I was instantly smitten! It was this stamp set that sparked my interest in stamping. I immediately began looking into different stamps, companies, techniques...I was so intrigued. That was the same day I found out about Copic markers. So, after a lot of time researching, I bought some markers (sets A, B and C of the Ciao), and was on the hunt for stamps to colour! I was trying to find somebody local who carried these stamps, as well as High Hopes which is another company I really liked. This led me to Phebe at The Town Scrapper in Petrolia, Ontario. She carries so many wonderful stamps! So, out I went for a visit...and a few purchases!

I would like to take the opportunity now to say a big THANK YOU!!! to Phebe, who has asked me to be a guest designer for August and September. What an honour! (especially for a newbie in this big stamping world!) I am just so excited to be on the team for this term! I look forward to posting my projects for this venture. Check out Phebe's blog for a look at her specials this week.

Ok, on to the card!(you can click on the photo for a larger image) This is once again coloured with Copic markers! All the paper is from my rather large "stash"! I've been trying to go through and use some of these papers! These stamps are so much fun to colour. My daughter loves them too...she has also been making cards with them! Over the next few days, I will share some more cards featuring the Miss Anya sets.
Thanks again for taking the time to stop by!

Swiss Pixies

I adore this little image! She is just so cute. This is Heidi from C.C. Designs. I picked her up a while ago from Phebe at The Town Scrapper.
I coloured Heidi with Copic markers (ok...you will hear this a lot from me!!). These markers blend like a dream. Being a Pixie, Heidi needed some sparkle so I added some Frosted Lace Stickles to her wings. I added some Stickles to the dew drop in the centre of the flower as well...which picks up the sparkle in the paper! The main image and the mat were cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities. This was a card I made a few weeks ago for Phebe.
Thanks for looking in!

Merry Christmas???...in July???

Has anyone else started on Christmas cards yet? I love Christmas! So for me, starting this early is so much fun. I spent all day last Saturday at Skribbles and Scraps making Christmas cards...what a great day! So when I saw the High Hopes challenge for this week, I knew I was already in the Christmas spirit! I love this stamp...it represents the true reason for celebrating Christmas! What a beautiful, quiet moment...Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus...even a little lamb is taking in the sight. I coloured the image with my Copics (love these markers!). The edges were aged with Antique Linen distress ink. The Scripture verse is printed on my computer (I really have very few sentiment stamps in my collection...I always get sidetracked by the images!). Some raffia completes this card. I didn't want to make it very fussy...I really wanted the image to take the focus.

That's all for now...go pull out some Christmas stamps and get merry!

Welcome! (and a High Hopes card!)

Hello, and welcome to my blog! I am completely new to this, so your patience is much appreciated. Over the last six months or so, I have become very interested (my husband would say obsessed, but I think that is a little strong!) in stamping. Funny, I used to go into scrapbooking stores and wonder how anybody would actually like stamping...has my opinion on that ever changed!! One of the companies I have come to love is High Hopes, and so my first post will be one of their stamps. How cute is this little birdie in the bath? He is coloured with Copic markers (now these I do admit to being obsessed with...if you have never tried these amazing markers, I encourage you to get out there and start colouring!) Of course, I had to add some Stickles to the bubbles.

Again, if you are here looking at my cards I would like to say thanks for taking the time to visit!
