How About a Sketch??

Good morning!! Ahh...Saturdays! Gotta love them, even though they are usually the day to get errands done. Oh, and it's the first day of May!! Yesterday was just gorgeous here. It was sunny and warm...perfect weather!

I would just like to take this chance to say a heart-felt thanks to everybody who takes the time out of their day to stop by my little corner of blogland. I very much appreciate all the lovely comments you leave. I do try to answer as many questions as possible. However, sometimes there is no email address linked to your comments (which I think might be included in your Blogger profile). So if you do have a question, just make sure to leave me an email address where you can be reached! (I don't want you to think I'm ignoring you!!) I am also going to try to be a little more diligent about posting colours used. (I try to put my markers away as I use them so I can keep them organized, and unfortunately I rarely remember to record which ones I've used.)

Ok, down to business! It's time for a new challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!! This week, the amazingly talented Jeanne has designed a sketch for us to follow. Sketches are just fantastic, as they take the guesswork out of layouts for you. I tend to labour over my layouts, so following a sketch greatly reduces my "assembly" time.

I decided to pull out Lillith this week. We've had so many amazing characters in the last several releases, that my "older" Kraftin' Kimmie stamps have been sitting there neglected. I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black and stamped her on my favourite paper, Neenah. She was, of course, coloured with my Copic markers.

I was feeling a little cheeky, and made up the sentiment. You know, not every young lady fits into that "girly-girl" mold. While my daughter loves her ballet and dressing up in gorgeous costumes for recitals, she HATES wearing dresses for any other occasion. I can't even remember the last time she wore a skirt! Yup, her wardrobe consists of jeans, tees and hoodies. Honestly, this is just fine with me...I don't really like wearing dresses either. The few times I ask her to "dress up" though, it's a bit of a battle with lots of eye-rolling and complaining about how uncomfortable those clothes are. Lillith strikes me a girl who would rather NOT be wearing a dress and going to fancy parties...I'm guessing her mom may have just lectured her on being a "proper" young lady....hence her response, "Define proper." lol

Copic colours: Skin: E000, E00, E11 and R20, Dress: R20, R22, R27, R46, R59, C1, C3, BG10, BG72, BG75, Colourless Blender, Hair: E50, E31, E33, E35, E37, E59, Grass: This is where I dropped the ball! lol You can use any assortment of G's and YG's to create your grass. (next time, I'll write these down!)

Remember that you must use a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp to be eligible to win the stamp that Jeanne used on her amazing card this week. Just link up your project to the Challenge Blog or online gallery(SCS keywords listed on the Challenge blog) to be in the running for the prize!

Don't own any yet?? You can find them here...and now is the time to stock up!! Miss Kimmie is running a big SALE to celebrate National Scrapbook Day!! From now until Sunday May 2nd at midnight (EST), you can purchase some of the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps at an amazing 25 to 50% off! Make sure to grab them while you can! You can find the details here. (or click here to be taken directly to the online store)

Make sure to check in with the rest of the Krafty Girls to see what they've made with Jeanne's sketch. These ladies never cease to amaze me with their talent and creativity!

Have a fantastic Saturday!

Blessings,

Melanie
