Birthday Anya! (and look for a link to some great blog candy!)

Hello! I was "hired" the other day by a co-worker to make a card for his girlfriend. He picked out the stamp and informed me that she liked pink...those were all the instructions! Oh, and I was to make her blonde. This is actually one of my favourite images. She's just so pretty! I had her all coloured up with papers picked out, and just could NOT put a card together!! Has that ever happened to you? It was so frustrating! So, the next day I went shopping for new paper! (because I really don't have enough already!!) That night, I had my friends Amanda and Amy over to stamp and colour. You have to love friends for offering input! So, finally after two nights of fighting with sketches and papers, here she is!!

Anya was stamped on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock and coloured with Copic markers, of course! The ribbons are from the dollar store...gotta love the dollar store! The charm is from Michael's. The flowers are from a great little store in London...can't remember the name, but my friend Amanda really likes this little place. I love the look of the jewelry spacers in the centre of the flowers...they are from Walmart! Thrifty papercrafters look all over the place for good bargains! The cardstock is Bazzil Bling, and I cannot remember the DP company...sorry! Here's a closeup of the image, and a pic of the inside.

Just a quick congrats to Amy !!! Want to see her big news? Drop on by her blog...she might just have a little candy floating around there! ;)

Hope you all have a terrific day!

The Town Scrapper's Sweetie Pie Blog Hop #2!

This candy is now closed. Thanks to all who played!

Welcome to our second Humble Pie Stamps blog hop!! We are so excited to introduce the new “SWEETIE PIE” line, and the Humble Pie Design Team to you!!
My blog is the fourth blog (of 5) before you get to Phebe’s/The Town Scrapper's blog. Each designer is offering blog candy, so make sure to join in the fun! If you participated last week, you will get to double your chances to win!
I was just blown away by all the lovely comments left last week. Thank you all so much for your kind words! It is my plan to visit all blogs represented on those comments! Thanks as well to those who joined as followers!

Here are all the designers participating in this week's blog hop (blop!). It isn’t absolutely necessary to do the blop in this order, but it is important that you visit every blog, and leave a comment on every blog, in order to be eligible to win a prize.

Today, as part of our second Blog Hop, I am offering up another chance to win the Chrysanthemum Fairy stamp. As a second prize, I will be offering some printed images of Maggie (from last week's card), and I might just throw in a couple of embellishments! Remember...this stamp is not yet released! (but will be soon!) I'll even print her on Neenah cardstock...so you can use Copics to colour!

I am thrilled to be a part of the Humble Pie Stamps Design Team!
Today, I thought I'd show you a card I made with the Chrysanthemum Fairy stamp that is up for grabs as blog candy from the design team. She is so pretty, and so suitable for adding lots of bling! It is my humble opinion that you cannot make a card featuring a fairy and not have lots of sparkle! Who doesn't love a card with lots of sparkle?? Here she is:

She was stamped on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock...another of my favourites!...and coloured with Copic markers. The card base is DCWV, and the design paper is all My Minds Eye. I sparkled her up with Stickles (love my Stickles!), Stardust pens and a Copic Spica pen. I really wish that the glitter would show up more in the picture...trust me, it really does sparkle! This image is also terrific for layering. I stamped her wings, skirt and the flower a second time so that they could be popped up for dimension. Here is a close-up of the image:

The new Sweetie Pie images will be available for purchase only at the Town Scrapper ! We are taking pre-orders now, so if you want to be sure to get your stamp, give Phebe a call, (519-882-0623) or send her an email... info@townscrapper.com .

What do you think? Wanna know how to win my blog candy prize? Leave me a comment today on this post to let me know you were here, that you did the hop and that you want to be entered to win this scrappy prize from me. You are only eligible if you comment here before 11:59 p.m. (EST) Tuesday, August 25. I will pick and announce two winners on Wednesday (one from last week, and one from hop #2!). Edwin...a long overdue post!

This is another card made for my guest spot on The Town Scrapper design team. This is a Magnolia stamp from the Chasing Butterflies collection. Once again, this card features paper by My Mind's Eye. This paper is so beautiful...I LOVE it! This paper pack came with some die cuts. This tag was just perfect for stamping a sentiment on. The ribbon is American Crafts, and it is tinted with Copic markers to match the DP...just like on the Tilda card (ok...it really does match the little birds on the tag, event though it doesn't look like it in this pic!). The butterflies are popped up for added dimension. Buttons are from Making Memories. All these materials can be found at The Town Scrapper. (except the cardstock, which was from my personal collection!) Edwin was coloured with Copic markers and popped up, so it looks like he is ready to run right out of the card! I love the depth that can be achieved with Copic markers. Adding shading and contrast really makes an image pop!

Forgot to mention that the sentiment is from the Amy R. Thank You set... Phebe sells this set too!

Thanks for taking time to look in!

Krista

Me!

Tricia

Phebe

I am offering up a Chrysanthemum Fairy as blog candy today...available from Phebe at the Town Scrapper! I will be working on a card this week with this stamp. I know that Kim has a beautiful card on her blog hop post made with this stamp, and Phebe has posted cards made by the design team. Would you like one??? To be eligible, leave me a comment on this post by Monday August 17, 2009 at 11:59 pm. I will draw a random number, and announce the winner here on August 18, 2009. Make sure to leave me your email address so that I can contact you!

Note: Silly me...I gave the wrong date for the close of the blog candy give away. It will stay open until Tuesday August 25, 2009 at 11:59 pm. Chalk that up to staying up late to post, and being too tired to get the details right!! lol

Now, onto the new stamps! Here is Maggie from illustrator Heather Hambleton.

Isn't she cute? All the paper used here is from my stash...not sure of the company! Maggie is coloured with Copics of course. I am trying a new paper for my Copics...Neenah. I have read great reviews of this product, and so far am liking it. The sky and grass is done with ink pads and foam blenders. I matted her on my brand new scalloped rectangle Spellbinders. The buttons are from Making Memories (available out at Phebe's store). I added a few rhinestones, paper flowers a sentiment and voila! I love the little flower Maggie is holding...who do you think it's for?? Here is a closeup of Maggie.

So, play along today! Don't forget to leave a comment on the designer's blogs for a chance to win the grand prize! Now off you go to Tricia's blog!

Thanks for stopping by today, and hope you visit again soon!

My Apologies...and a teaser!

Hey everyone. I have to apologize. I forgot to post the card that I made with Edwin...it will be up tomorrow. Our last couple of days have been crazy around here! Please check back tomorrow to see him!

Now for the teaser! Phebe, from The Town Scrapper will soon be introducing a new stamp line called Sweetie Pie. Check in on Monday to participate in the blog hop! (rumour has it there will be blog candy up for grabs!)

The illustrator's name is Heather Hambleton. Here is what Heather shared about herself:

Hi there! My name is Heather Hambleton and I have recently started designing stamps for a line called Humble Pie! I live in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, and I am a former Beal Art student. I have been drawing since I was old enough to hold up a pencil. Drawing is definitely what I would call my one true passion in life! But when I’m not drawing I can be found at the gym or reading a good book. I am super excited to be designing for Phebe at ‘The Town Scrapper as she is just such an exceptionally amazing lady! Hopefully all goes well and you will like my images as much as she does!!

Interested??

The Town Scrapper DT

Good morning all! I am very excited...this is my first submission as a guest on Phebe's design team for The Town Scrapper ! This is Tilda from the Chasing Butterflies collection. Phebe has a great selection of Magnolia stamps...go and check them out! Tilda was coloured with Copics to match the design paper. This paper is AWESOME! It is from My Mind's Eye. I had never used this paper before, but I will definitely be getting more! The texture and weight is beautiful. I distressed the edges of the layers. When I was piecing it together, I thought that it looked a lot like fabric. So...I decided to try my hand (well, my sewing machine!) at stitching on a card. I have seen many cards with this feature, and have been wanting to try it. The ribbon is American Crafts, coloured just lightly with a Copic marker to tone down the white...so that it matches the DP. The butterflies are also part of the Magnolia Chasing Butterflies collection. These were stamped twice, and the top butterfly popped up for dimension. The little button is from Making Memories. Pretty much all the materials for this card can be found at Phebe's. The little butterfly charm is the exception...it is from my stash...had it for a long time, and this card seemed to be perfect for it! I'll be posting another card with the Edwin stamp from this collection tomorrow...so stay tuned!

Another Anya Card

Here is a card made with The Greeting Farm's Rain, Snow, Shine set. Ok, so it's not really "cold outside", but I love this saying and it seemed to suit this card! Anya was coloured with...Copics! I added some Stickles to her muff, ear muffs and furry trim. I remember when I was just little, and my grandmother bought me a little muff for my hands just like this one! I think I wore it to school only once...I quickly learned that this was not a "playground friendly" means to keep your hands warm! Now that I've taken you on a trip down memory lane, I'll get back to the card details! The quote was printed out on my computer. What a great way to add to your sentiment collection! I've mentioned before that I am short on sentiment stamps, so this is a nice alternative. The little rhinestones were a great find on a clearance rack at Walmart. Always, always check the clearance racks! You never know what you will find! I used Nesties to cut out the circle and scalloped circle. The papers are DCWV, and a Christmas stack I bought last year...but the cover fell off, and I'm not sure what company they were from...oops! (the pink base really does match the DP, but I think the flash caused it to look much different!) Has anyone else been making winter and/or Christmas cards yet?

Thanks for taking the time to look!

Melanie
