Showcase Mondays!

Why is it that weekends fly by so quickly?? I can't believe it's Monday morning already! Do you find yourself needing a little "pick-me-up" on Mondays? We now have a new feature over on the Humble Pie blog to help get your week off to a fun start. Join us for "Showcase Monday" when the Bakers will be showing you projects featuring the many different stamp companies and product lines that Phebe carries at The Town Scrapper! She, of course, is the exclusive retailer of Humble Pie Stamps, but she also has a ton of other goodies in her store!

Today, I am showing you a card featuring the newest Miss Anya set from The Greeting Farm called "Miss Anya Love". I just adore the Miss Anya stamps, and this new set is no exception! As usual, there are three Anya images in the set, and they are gorgeous! I love the versatility of these stamps. They are great for birthday cards, thank-you cards, thinking-of-you cards...oh, the list is endless! I chose to make a friendship card.

I also used some other product lines Phebe has at The Town Scrapper. The design paper is all from the new Basic Grey collection called "Origins" and the two oval layers were cut using Spellbinders dies. Remember, if Phebe does not have a specific Spellbinders set in stock, she can always order it in for you. Her service is fast and super friendly!

Miss Anya was stamped on Neenah cardstock with Memento ink and coloured with Copic markers. I had a lot of fun colouring the folds in her dress and trying to make them look three dimensional. All the edges were sponged with brown ink and Miss Anya was adhered with pop dots for dimension. The "Friend" brad was something I've had kicking around in my stash for quite a while.

I hope you make our "Showcase Mondays" at the Humble Pie Blog part of your week! Phebe's contact information is on her blog, right beneath the header. Petrolia is such a pretty little town to visit! I love driving out there and seeing the Victorian charm of all the beautiful old homes. It is well worth the trip, as I know you will leave Phebe's store with a ton of goodies! If you are too far to visit, please contact her! As I said, Phebe's customer service is great!

God bless!

Melanie

My Guy

Ok, so I am a bit behind on posting this card...I actually said I'd post it last week, but the days got away on me!! This is a card I made for Phebe at The Town Scrapper! Last time I was out to see her, I snagged this great stamp set called "My Guy Ian" from The Greeting Farm. I have been wanting this set for quite some time. I don't know about you, but I often struggle with masculine cards. I figured this set would help me out with that!!

The set "My Guy Ian" includes two "Ian" images and several sentiments...what a great set to have! Today, I am sharing a card featuring one of these "guys". I stamped Ian and coloured him up with Copic markers...gee, do you all get tired of me saying that?? I decided to pair him up with some fabulous papers from the Basic Grey collection called "Origins" (you can purchase this paper at The Town Scrapper). There are several designs in this pack that lend themselves to a more masculine feel. Obviously with a masculine card, you want nothing "frou frou" on it, so I opted to go with a brad from the Basic Grey Sugar Rush line, twine and a vellum heart. I stamped the sentiment "Hey Dude" on the heart...which is part of the stamp set. Actually, there are several sentiments in this set. It's quite the bargain!

If you are close to Petrolia, Ontario make sure to plan a visit out to The Town Scrapper to check out all the fantastic stamp lines and supplies Phebe carries. If you are too far away to make the drive, give Phebe a call for information about placing an order with her!! You can find her contact information on her blog here. Oh, and I have some great news!!! Phebe is extending her BUY ONE, GET ONE OF EQUAL OR LESSER VALUE FOR 50% OFF sale until February 14, 2010!!! So, no excuses...call her today so you don't miss out on this deal!

Have a wonderful, blessed day!!

(ps...don't be shy! leave me a comment to let me know you were visiting...I love company!!)

Blessings!

Melanie

Birthday Anya! (and look for a link to some great blog candy!)

Hello! I was "hired" the other day by a co-worker to make a card for his girlfriend. He picked out the stamp and informed me that she liked pink...those were all the instructions! Oh, and I was to make her blonde. This is actually one of my favourite images. She's just so pretty! I had her all coloured up with papers picked out, and just could NOT put a card together!! Has that ever happened to you? It was so frustrating! So, the next day I went shopping for new paper! (because I really don't have enough already!!) That night, I had my friends Amanda and Amy over to stamp and colour. You have to love friends for offering input! So, finally after two nights of fighting with sketches and papers, here she is!!

Anya was stamped on Prism Simply Smooth cardstock and coloured with Copic markers, of course! The ribbons are from the dollar store...gotta love the dollar store! The charm is from Michael's. The flowers are from a great little store in London...can't remember the name, but my friend Amanda really likes this little place. I love the look of the jewelry spacers in the centre of the flowers...they are from Walmart! Thrifty papercrafters look all over the place for good bargains! The cardstock is Bazzil Bling, and I cannot remember the DP company...sorry! Here's a closeup of the image, and a pic of the inside.

Just a quick congrats to Amy !!! Want to see her big news? Drop on by her blog...she might just have a little candy floating around there! ;)

Hope you all have a terrific day!

Melanie

The stamps that started it all!

Hello! Today I am going to share a card I made with a stamp from The Greeting Farm's Miss Anya set. One day a few months back, I was innocently browsing some websites, and stumbled across somebody's blog (unfortunately, I do not remember whose it was!) who had made a card with these stamps. Wow! I was instantly smitten! It was this stamp set that sparked my interest in stamping. I immediately began looking into different stamps, companies, techniques...I was so intrigued. That was the same day I found out about Copic markers. So, after a lot of time researching, I bought some markers (sets A, B and C of the Ciao), and was on the hunt for stamps to colour! I was trying to find somebody local who carried these stamps, as well as High Hopes which is another company I really liked. This led me to Phebe at The Town Scrapper in Petrolia, Ontario. She carries so many wonderful stamps! So, out I went for a visit...and a few purchases!

I would like to take the opportunity now to say a big THANK YOU!!! to Phebe, who has asked me to be a guest designer for August and September. What an honour! (especially for a newbie in this big stamping world!) I am just so excited to be on the team for this term! I look forward to posting my projects for this venture. Check out Phebe's blog for a look at her specials this week.

Ok, on to the card!(you can click on the photo for a larger image) This is once again coloured with Copic markers! All the paper is from my rather large "stash"! I've been trying to go through and use some of these papers! These stamps are so much fun to colour. My daughter loves them too...she has also been making cards with them! Over the next few days, I will share some more cards featuring the Miss Anya sets.
Thanks again for taking the time to stop by!
