I cannot believe that it's almost time for classes to start up again...summer flew by! I decided to make a corner bookmark. For me, reading is a year-long activity to enjoy but I know that reading goes hand in hand with many assignments and projects. I actually made this bookmark for myself even though I'm not the one heading back to class, but these would be super easy to whip up for all the students, teachers or book lovers in your lift. I've always wanted to to try making one of these non-traditional bookmarks and was surprised at how easy they are! This is simply a 5"x5" square of cardstock scored at 2.5" inches on both sides...so you end up with a grid of four squares. You simply cut away one of the squares, snip off the corner of the opposite square if desired and then fold the other two remaining squares in so the nestle on top of one other. Add a bit of adhesive and you're done the base. You can always google tutorials for these...you'll find several variations. The design paper is MME. (although I didn't take a picture, I did add paper to the back of the bookmark as well so it's pretty from both sides) I decided to pull out the Bookworm Trinkets which are perfect for making bookmarks! They are just the right size for this project. I stamped the trinket, coloured it with Copics and matted it with Spellbinders Lacey Circles. I love how these bookmarks slip over the corner of your page...so cute! For staging the picture, I pulled out Eldest, a book from one of my favourite series, The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini...gotta love a good dragon tale. ;)
