Welcome to a very special blog hop! I am excited to announce my participation and publication in the latest book in the series, the Copic Coloring Guide, Level 4: Fine Details!
Authors Colleen Schaan and Marianne Walker have partnered up again with the team at Annie’s and some of the most talented artists and designers in the industry to bring you a quality publication packed full of techniques, theory, tutorials, and inspiration. The 64-page book is the latest in the Coloring Guide series, offering information and educational material for crafters of all skill levels.
From light source to shading and shadows, to mixing mediums and tackling detailed images, this book shows how to take your coloring up one notch further… by focusing on the fine details. All of the information is presented in an easy-to-follow format.
An included CD contains all of the hand-drawn images used in the tutorial section of the book, along with the assembly instructions for all of the projects.
Each participating designer is hopping today to give you a peak at their favorite project from the book - and a chance to WIN your own autographed copy!
If you've been hopping along, you will have arrived here after visiting with the lovely and talented Sharon Harnist. (If not, it begins with a gorgeous sampling of work from Jane Allen. )
I can't tell you how excited and honoured I am to be a part of this book, and to have the opportunity to work alongside such lovely and talented artists. This is the project I have in the book. It features a pretty mermaid stamp from the Sea Jewels set by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I coloured her with the "no lines" technique" by stamping her in a very light ink. I love this technique as it produces such a different effect from having that typical black outline...it almost looks more like a painting. It is a bit more challenging than working with clearly defined lines, but you will receive fantastic instruction in the Copic Coloring Guide 4 to assist you in working with the no lines technique. You can also find the full list of Copic colours, products and paper used on my card in the book.
BLOG CANDY: To help kick off the celebration of the new book... each designer on the hop is giving away an autographed copy of the book...signed not only by Colleen and Marianne, but by the individual designer too! Please comment on this post for your chance to win your copy of mine! Commenting will be closed at midnight on Sunday, June 30th, 2013 EST. Winners will be announced on the individual designer's blog, so make sure to check back to see if you are a lucky winner!
