It's my turn to play hostess this week, and our challenge theme is:
SPRING!
I created a watercoloured scene using two of our stamp sets and my Daniel Smith paints.
I first stamped the adorable little deer from our brand new Fawn'd of You set...such a perfect set for our Spring theme! I also pulled out an unexpected set: Spooky Silhouettes. While this set was included in a Halloween release, I find the tree stamp to be extremely versatile! I stamped both images in our Totally Taupe Ink on Arches cold pressed watercolour paper. I started by dropping in the sky and grass. I then worked on painting the tree canopy as pink blossoms. As the tree was stamped in a light brown ink, I was still able to layer a few different brown paints to create a bark-like texture. I used a little white gauche to paint the spots on the fawns's backside.
Each and every Saturday we post a brand new challenge for the week and you are welcome to enter as many times as you like! These must be new creations and you are welcome to use any stamp, however using a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp will earn you double entries!
